After many weeks of speculation that his time on the independent circuit was coming to an end, WWE have finally announced on an article for WWE.com that the former King Ricochet has signed for the company.
Describing Ricochet the article says ‘Standing 5-foot-9 and weighing 188 pounds, Mann brings an astonishing assortment of aerial moves to the ring. He first earned notoriety in Japan for an eye-popping double-moonsault, and his 630° senton remains one of the most potent weapons in his arsenal. Mann, who credits [Eddie] Guerrero, Rey Mysterio and The Rock as three of his in-ring influences, was inspired to pursue sports-entertainment after watching The Great One and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin do battle at WrestleMania XV.’
Time will tell whether Ricochet 1.) Changes his ring name for his debut in the WWE and 2.) And whether he will debut in NXT or on the WWE’s main roster. His accolades would warrant a main roster debut, however some time spent in NXT might be best suited to allow him the time to adapt to the WWE style.
Interestingly the article finishes off by saying “As Mann settles in at the WWE PC, keep an eye on WWE.com for upcoming announcements on more Superstar signings.” – So keep both eyes peeled for a possible upcoming announcement of the tag team War Machine and potentially former TNA stars Bobby Lashley and EC3.
