John Krasinski to work with “A Quiet Place” team for “Life on Mars”

In an exclusive report the Hollywood Reporter have learned that director of the critically acclaimed A Quiet Place, John Krasinski, is set to form a reunion with the same team behind his feature film directorial debut.

Krasinski will be reteaming with the producers of A Quiet Place – Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller – to work on Life on Mars. Based on the short story by Cecil Castellucci titled We Have Always Lived on Mars the story follows “a woman who is among a handful of descendants of a Martian colony long-abandoned by Earth following a cataclysm. The woman one day finds she can breathe the air on Mars, upending her world and that of her fellow colonists”.

Peter Jackson in talks for Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings TV Series

After news recently broke that the new Amazon Lord of the Rings TV show was going to cost over $500m, thanks to the Hollywood Reporter we now have even more to break down about the show.

According to the print version of the Hollywood Reporter (No online link yet available) despite not taking part in the rights negotiations between Amazon and the Tolkien Estate, Peter Jackson’s lawyer has apparently “helped start a dialogue between Jackson and Amazon.”

This will come as a great relief to many who loved the Lord of the Rings trilogy of films, as it also appears as though Amazon may use “material from the [New Line] films”, meaning that the show will now exist within the continuity of the Oscar winning classics.

We truly live in the Brightest Timeline, because apparently there’s a version of Jurassic Park that could have been with no Dr Ian Malcolm.

Justice League becomes DC’s biggest flop

Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, Aquaman, The Flash and Cyborg. Not even the combined might of the Justice League could save DC from hitting a wall.

Justice League has officially wrapped its domestic run in cinemas, limping to the finish-line with a comparatively meager $229m in the domestic market and $428.9m overseas. For a film that had a budget of roughly $300m, and in an era where the first Marvel crossover, The Avengers reached $1.518bn worldwide the box office for Justice League has to be considered a massive flop.
