Well… it was better than The Last Jedi.
Considering the backstage politics and troubles that LucasFilm had to maneuver to get this film into cinemas I’m actually impressed that it didn’t totally stink. With that being said I won’t be clamoring to see this movie a second time at the cinema and I won’t be hot on the heels of a blu-ray copy when it finally comes out.

MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THE LAST JEDI BELOW
The decision to kill of Snoke in Episode 8 was a devisive one to say the least. But speaking in an interview with /Film’s Peter Sciretta, Andy Serkis has revealed that all may not be as it seems for the former Supreme Leader of the First Order.
Sciretta set up the topic by asking:
“I’d like to ask a quick Star Wars question. Supreme Leader Snoke was seemingly set up as this ultimate galactic villain in The Force Awakens, so what was your reaction when you first read the script for The Last Jedi and discovered that your character would die in that way?”
Rather than turning down the question or offering up the usual political answer that Star Wars cast members seem to have in infinite supply, Serkis actually offered up a tease that may get the Star Wars fandom talking once again.
“Look, it’s Star Wars, so you never know how life, or whether life can be come back to or not. Whether you can be resuscitated or brought back. I was shocked. Dramatically, it felt absolutely right for that moment in the film, so I didn’t question it. I just think it’s a very, very important scene, so I didn’t question it. But I do, I know it’s left fans feeling like, that they were really searching for something there. And what I’m saying is, who knows?”
It was later confirmed in the interview that Serkis had not spoken to JJ Abrams about Episode 9 following the release of Episode 8. But it’s a tantalizing tease for those fans who wanted more out of the Trilogy’s supposed “big bad”.
After all is said and done this is little more than fan theories again, but it’s a fun prospect that the doors are really wide open for where Abrams wants to take the final film in the trilogy he started. Personally I’m a big fan of the Snoke return concept, so kudos to /Film and Peter Sciretta for getting the tease out of the performance capture King.
